'Diamond Dogs' saw the apocalypse that Bowie had spent two albums envisioning come to pass, but rather than the world coming to an end it was instead Bowie himself drawing a line under the persona of Ziggy Stardust and the glam scene that he had helped create.
It was a scorched earth approach that lead to a complete reinvention for the next album, but he let Ziggy have one last run out on 'Rebel Rebel'.
