  1. I discovered this website today and have just listened to my first podcast. It was a very entertaining 45 minutes on an otherwise dull Sunday afternoon. The presenters are widely-read and knowledgeable, bringing interesting insights to the two books reviewed. The sound quality was excellent and the delivery polished. I thought it was a good idea to contrast books of different styles, one a 'literary' collection of stories and the other a novel that, ultimately, one of the presenters thought was 'absolute rubbish'. While it's hard to knock a novel that has apparently sold 6 million copies, to the question how this could be, the answer may lie in the quote from the American journalist H.L.Mencken along the lines of: "No one ever lost money underestimating the taste of the public." I couldn't agree more about the use of exclamation marks in prose! Far too many of them!! The final quote of the piece made me laugh and inspired me to post this comment!!!
